Specific Outcomes of the Mind/Body Relationship

June 17, 2018     HEALTHY LIFE     No comments

"Have you ever wondered when most people die? Statistically, it turns out that people are more likely to die on Monday morning before going to work than at any other time of the week. There has been much speculation as to why this happens, but most people agree it's because they are stressed that they are heading back to jobs they can't stand after a weekend off.

A placebo is an inactive pill, liquid, or powder that has no treatment value. In clinical trials, experimental treatments are often compared with placebos to assess the treatment's effectiveness. Nevertheless, on average, 35 percent of all people who receive a given placebo experience a significant effect. In fact, in a series of trials, 52 percent of colitis patients treated with a placebo reported feeling better. Astoundingly, 50 percent of the inflamed intestines actually looked better when examined with a sigmoidoscope. It seems that a person's beliefs and hopes about a treatment, combined with their suggestibility, have a significant biochemical effect."
