- The Planck Space Mission has released the most detailed map ever made of the oldest light in the universe, revealing new information about its age, origins and content. According to Planck’s map the universe is 13.8 billion years old (100 million years older than previously thought), and conformed by 26.8% dark matter, 68.3% dark energy and 4.9% ordinary matter.
